Super 10 Group-2, Nz Vs Pak, Wt20 (Men)

Its day-8 and we have a single header today. Its New Zealand taking on Pakistan in a night match at Punjab Cricket Association. NZ have been in good form lately, winning 2 on 2 against two big sides of group-2. They've beaten India in their opening game in Nagpur and Australia in their 2nd game at Dharamshala. They will come very strongly on Pakistan, who have won 1 out of their 2 matches.

Pakistan was earlier defeated by India at Eden Gardens. This was their 11th Consecutive defeat against India in World Cups (Both ODIs and T20s). They will look to change the tides on their sides but NZ are in red hot form and are favourites to win all of their 4 matches in this Super 10.

Yesterday, Australia won over Bangladesh and kept their hopes alive in this world cup. Though Bangladesh narrowed things a little bit but they chased down the target with 3 wickets in hand.

NZ Capt: Kane Williamson
Pak Capt: Shahid Afridi

So, in a total of 14 T20 games that have been played between these 2 sides, NZ have won 6 out of these 14 matches. So Pakistan are holding the lead for now, but it wont take much to change the stats.

Mohali is probably more like New Zealand conditions than perhaps Nagpur and Dharamsala. It is a good wicket for batting and even scores of above 170 or 180 have been chased down here in the IPL.
Not many international matches have been played here but only one game back in 2009, which was Ind Vs SL and team india winning it comfortably.
Teams-
New Zealand: Kane Williamson (capt), Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, Martin Guptill, Grant Elliott, Colin Munro, Mitchell McClenaghan, Nathan McCullum, Ross Taylor, Adam Milne, Henry Nicholls, Luke Ronchi, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee.

Pakistan: Shahid Afridi (capt), Ahmed Shehzad, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Sami, Khalid Latif.

NZ will rely on their explosive batting line up and will also want to play their seamers on this track. They should win the toss and elect to bat first.
It's a big ground and clearing the ropes wont be easy here. Team batting first will have more advantage, specially for a team like NZ, who plays the game in an attacking way. This wicket will be good for a hard hitter Guptill, who would want to maximize the first 6 overs. And chasing will take some hitting as the ground is really big. Hope for a good match. Cheers :)
